PROJECTS - EDUCATION


The Practice has played a major role in phased redevelopment at both The High School of Glasgow and Kibble School Paisley over many years, assisted North Lanarkshire Council with its schools refurbishment programme and undertaken structural design for the University of Highlands and Islands at their SAMS establishment in Oban. A few of these are featured below.


The High School of Glasgow
Description:    A thirteen year programme of redevelopment at both Junior and Secondary Schools to include new Kindergarten, Junior Classrooms, Music Department, Drama Studio and Classrooms, IT Wing, Main Entrance and Science Block.

Client:    The High School of Glasgow.
Architect:    Wylie Shanks Architects.
Value:    Seven projects ranging in construction value from £0.2 million to £3.2 million.
Completed:    1995 to 2008.



SAMS Teaching Block, Dunbeg, Oban
Description:    Conversion of a former Argyll College building and construction of new-build three-storey teaching block including lecture rooms, laboratories, offices and canteen.

Architect:    Stewart Associates.
Value:    £4.1 million.
Completed:    February 2011.



The Kibble School, Paisley
Description:    An ongoing redevelopment of the Kibble School Campus since 1995 to include various classroom extensions, new sports complex, education block, multi-purpose hall and canteen.

Value:    Project values in the range of £0.1 million to £8.5 million.
Completed:    Various phases from 1995 to 2012.
